Gravity Filtration

The ‘Gravity’ in these filters refers to the way that the water returns to the pool. Gravity filters are some sort of box or chamber that is cited outside the pool. A Pump would sit in the water, and would pump up water into the filter box, which would then pass through the filter, and return to the pond at gravity. Gravity filters need to be cited higher that the water level in the pond to allow the water to flow back unobstructed.
